Dalteparin is used to treat or prevent the recurrence of blood clots (venous thromboembolism) in legs (deep vein thrombosis) or lungs (pulmonary embolism) after surgery, prolonged bed rest or in patients with certain types of cancer. It is also used along with to prevent formation of clots in bloods vessel in patients with angina (chest pain) or heart attack. How it works
